Quick and Easy Clam Chowder
So it was a chilly, autumn Friday evening, and I had just finished cleaning out one of my cupboards, where I found a couple cans of minced clams buried way in the back. Now the only thing I have used canned clams for previously was clam dip.... an appetizer my sister...
Pineapple Kiwi Green “Juice” Smoothie
Is there a National Day for everything now? Who knew there was a Green Juice Day? Well, apparently someone has declared January 26th to be Green Juice Day. So, why not celebrate it with a new green beverage creation? I'm not really a green juice fan, and I don't have...
Stove-Top Chicken and Orzo

Slow Food not Fast Food
We believe in moderation and balance in our diet. We’ve tried “Keto” and “low-carb” diets and yes, they can help us lose weight, but who knows if they’re good for us long-term? And with the recent emphasis on plant-based diets, we’re venturing more into that realm. But our approach would be better termed “plant-centric” as our emphasis is on whole, unprocessed foods, sourced locally and organic when possible, but not omitting meats and dairy that have been sourced from farmers practicing humane and organic farming. We believe in supporting our local farmers who grow our food with sustainable and regenerative methods.
Striving for Good Health
Does trying to eat right have to be so confusing? Counting calories, points, carbs? Low-fat, good fat? Paleo, Keto, Plant-based? We’re not experts, and we don’t have all the answers. We’re researching, seeking, and experimenting, trying to discover what works. We don’t believe that a restrictive diet is a good long-term solution. And along with diet we’re working on other parts of that fitness equation–moving more, getting plenty of rest, and trying to strike a balance between work and play. Through this site we hope to keep a record of what’s working, and maybe what’s not working. We’ll share our discoveries and welcome you to join us!
